That's Why I'm Here

by Chris Spielman and Bruce Hooley

Read this book.  I do not even feel the need to qualify this with a particular demographic.

I am not one of the seemingly vast majority that has been punched in the face by someone near to me being diagnosed with cancer.  However, I love my spouse, family, and friends deeply and could see being in a situation similar to any number of the people discussed in this book.  I learned quite a bit about the Spielmans and cancer, but I also feel I learned a lot about myself from my reactions to the book.

Without giving too much away, the book is about a family.  The husband was a Pro Bowl caliber linebacker in the NFL and is now a football analyst and the wife was a model and television personality.  Through their celebrity and their faith, Stephanie and Chris Spielman have provided both hope and research funds so that cancer may someday be defeated.  It truly inspired me and I cannot think of one person that I would not recommend read this book.

What this blog is all about

I do not know where this will go.

Maybe it will be inspirational; maybe therapeutic.  Part of its purpose will be so that I can remember what I have done.

It may not always be clean.  It may be exaggerated at times, but it will never be total lies.

It will serve as a journal of books that I read. At some point, I will likely discuss movies, music, or other pop culture topics.

Assuming I can get the security settings right, please do not ask who I am.
